Kevin Ford began his career shooting rock bands in New York City. By the late-90's he had teamed up with Carter Smith and together they shot tours and music videos with some of the top Rock n' Roll acts of the time - Jane's Addiction, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, and many more. Their collaborations with Jane's Addiction culminated in their feature film "Three Days" (1999) which starred the band and played at film festivals internationally. The pair were later hired by Donovan Leitch to shoot a political documentary starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, "The Party's Over," (2000). Ford went on to direct, shoot, and edit for a variety of other music-related shows for Sony, MTV and VH1 (1999 - 2002). In the year 2000 he began a series of experimental feature films featuring actors such as Eddie Steeples ("My Name Is Earl"), Angela Bettis ("May"), and Cinque Lee ("Mystery Train"). Richard Linklater hired Ford to shoot two documentary projects, "Inning By Inning" (2006) - about college baseball legend Augie Garrido - and his TV Pilot "Magikal History Tour" (2008) featuring Speed Levitch ("The Cruise"). Kevin has also shot commercially - contributing his photography to Monster Energy, Lacoste, and the national Chrysler Ad "Bringing Back The Style" (2011). In 2008 Adrien Brody commissioned Ford to create an ongoing, experimental documentary project which the two are still collaborating on. In a similar vein, Ford has also created an extensive installation of Stereoscopic 3D Videos that are designed for gallery exhibition (2011 - 2012). As an editor, Ford has helped to shape Sundance favorites such as "May" (2001) and "All My Friends Are Funeral Singers," (2009) as well as cutting for TV shows like "Color Splash" (2009) on HGTV, and editing Bela Fleck's "Live at the Quick" (2002) concert DVD. Recently Ford directed another feature film, "Legs," (2010 - 2012) which stars his long-time collaborators Eddie Steeples and Angela Bettis. Kevin has also been shooting television shows for HGTV & Travel Channel (2011 - 2012) while planning another movie project for 2013.
